All butterflies & insects are sustainably & ethically sourced from multiple reputable butterfly & insect farms, breeders & conservationists worldwide. If we cannot find a sustainable or ethical source for a specimen, we simply will not stock it.
Whilst yes, a good portion of the insects bred in farms do end up sold as specimens for various things such as education, research & museums as well as the artwork I make; insect farms do wonderful things for the species they breed. This includes releasing live specimens into the wild to help boost local populations, as well as saving some species from becoming endangered or even extinct due to over hunting in the wild & the inevitable habitat destruction & climate change.
